Andrew Woods laces up the boots for Goondiwindi Emus

Woods Transport director Andrew Woods is proud to again be representing the Goondiwindi Rugby Club as part of the 2016 Downs Rugby season.

Andrew is currently playing B grade for the Goondiwindi Emus, and this year marks his third season with the club.

The Woods Group wishes all grades the best as they go for glory this season.

Angus Woods explores US consumer trends at Expo West

The Woods Group’s Angus Woods headed to Anaheim, California, in March 2016 for Natural Products Expo West, one of the world’s premier trade expos for the natural, organic & healthy products industry.

The event – which attracted more than 3,000 exhibitors and 70,000 attendees – revealed the latest products and innovations catering to the modern health-conscious consumer.

Angus took the opportunity to meet with top industry players and learn more about current trends in the US and global markets.

Woods Foods’innovation on show

The Woods Group’s innovation in the food industry was showcased as part of the Advance Queensland Regional Forum held in Toowoomba on 9 February, 2016.

Woods Foods director Angus Woods presented to business, industry and government leaders, including Queensland Minister for Innovation, Science & Digital Economy, The Hon Leeanne Enoch MP.

Angus’ presentation outlined how Woods Foods has pioneered innovative manufacturing techniques, such as a market-first puffing technique, to introduce the nutritional benefits of pulses and sorghum to new food markets in Australia and abroad.

Woods Foods was formed in 2012 with the production of its signature UltraPulse® Chickpea Flour and now offers an expanded range of premium food ingredients, including grains and seeds, flours and fibres and puffed products.

The Woods Group celebrates International Year of Pulses

The United Nations has put the power of pulses under the spotlight by designating 2016 the International Year of Pulses (IYOP16), in recognition of their critical contribution to global food security, nutritional benefits and role in sustainable food production.

As one of Australia’s leading pulse producers and manufacturers, The Woods Group is helping to raise the profile of Australian-grown pulses like chickpeas, faba beans and mung beans and their growing significance as part of the agricultural economy.
