Woods Group Investigates Algae Potential

Putting its innovative focus into action, The Woods Group has partnered with The University of Queensland to further diversify its operations by establishing an onsite algae farm.

Funded by the Queensland Government’s Advance Queensland Biofutures Commercialisation Program, the groundbreaking project involves trialling new technology for the extraction of omega-3 oil from algae to serve as a sustainable alternative for fish oil and a protein source for the stockfeed industry.

If successful, the project will proceed through additional stages, potentially launching a new bioindustry for the Goondiwindi region and further strengthening Queenland’s agricultural economy.
