Beef Bull Pellet
Woods Beef Bull Pellet is a medicated stock feed suitable for growing and mature bulls destined for breeding or sale, fed as a supplement to pasture, hay or silage being consumed.
It is designed to help young bulls develop adequate frames and mature bulls to improve body condition before breeding season or sale.
Woods Beef Bull Pellet is composed of milled grains, protein meals/pulse seeds (soybean meal, cotton seed meal, palm kernel meal, canola meal, faba beans, chickpeas and/or mung beans), fibre and other food by-products (hulls, millrun, biscuit meal, etc.), macro-minerals, trace minerals and vitamins. Typically Woods Beef Bull Pellet contains 22mg/kg of Monensin (Rumensin®) sodium, a rumen modifier that helps improve feed conversion.
Feeding Guidelines
Bulls that have not been accustomed to grain feeding must be introduced gradually or it may cause bloat, rumen acidosis and/or possible death. Before supplying this moderate to high grain ration, preferably feed cattle palatable grass/cereal hay for 1 to 2 days to ensure rumen fill and adequate rumination. Continue to supply medium to good quality cereal or grass hay, silage or pasture while feeding Woods Beef Bull Pellet.
Depending on amount and quality of forage (pasture, hay or silage) available, provide Woods Beef Bull Pellet between 1 to 2% of live weight in troughs or limit access self-feeders to young bulls (weaning to 18 months) to achieve 1.1kg/hd/day gain and 1.4kg/hd/day from 18 months to maturity.
Supply up to 1.5% of live weight to mature bulls along with forage until desired body condition is reached for breeding season.
